ModelForge tools are professional-grade hobby tools intended for use by adults and supervised teenagers (14+). Our products contain sharp edges, pointed tips, and small parts. Proper safety precautions must be followed at all times.
Age Recommendations

General Safety Guidelines
- Sharp edges: Nippers, knives, and tweezers have sharp edges. Always cut away from your body.
- Eye protection: Wear safety glasses when cutting plastic or using sanding tools to prevent debris injury.
- Proper grip: Use tools as intended. Do not use nippers as wire cutters or knives as pry tools.
- Clean workspace: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Clear of debris that could cause slips.
- Storage: Store sharp tools with blade guards/caps on. Keep out of reach of children.
- Blade replacement: Replace dull or damaged blades immediately. Dull blades require more force and are more dangerous.
Specific Product Warnings
Nippers & Cutters
- Do not use on metal wire or hardened materials — blade damage may occur
- Spring-loaded mechanisms can pinch fingers
- Flush cuts may produce small plastic projectiles — wear eye protection
Hobby Knives
- Always retract or cap blade when not in use
- Use a cutting mat to protect your work surface and blade
- Replace blades regularly — dull blades are more likely to slip
- Dispose of used blades in a sharps container
LED Products
- Do not exceed rated voltage (USB 5V for most products)
- Keep USB ports dry — do not use near water
- LED strip adhesive may damage painted surfaces — test first
Magnifying Lamps
- Do not look directly at the sun through the magnifier
- Keep away from flammable materials — lens can focus light
Choking Hazard Warning
Some products contain small parts (replacement blades, small screws, parts trays). Keep small parts away from children under 3 years old.
First Aid
- Cuts: Clean wound with soap and water. Apply pressure with clean cloth. Seek medical attention for deep cuts.
- Eye injury: Do not rub. Flush with clean water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
- Electric shock (LED products): Disconnect power immediately. Seek medical attention if needed.
Product Recalls
If we become aware of a safety issue with any product, we will:
- Immediately remove the product from our store
- Email all customers who purchased the affected product
- Offer a full refund or safe replacement
- Report to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) if applicable
